After  a century of asking for lighting, the Old Escondido Historic District is finally getting its wish.

The City of Escondido has begun the arduous task of planning the engineering side of installation as well as pricing and looking into grants that will make pedestrian lighting project happen.  The large size of the District and funding limits mean that the acorn-shaped light posts will be installed in phases as money becomes available.  The map below shows the order of the phases, as compiled from a neighborhood-wide survey conducted in July 2017.  Scroll to the bottom for a legend that explains the various colors.
