Escondido’s Downtown Business Historic District is the oldest in North San Diego County and has much to offer. Adjacent to the residential Old Escondido Historic District, quaint storefronts line Grand Avenue and other streets, featuring numerous restaurants, shops, art galleries, and services.  Two small parks; Heritage Garden at Grand and Juniper and Maple Plaza at Grand and Maple offer a place to relax and let the kids run off some steam, or visit Grape Day Park to enjoy more space, a children's playground, and the Escondido History Center museum.  Several events, including Escondido’s favorite weekly events, “Cruisin’ Grand” on Fridays through the summer and the Farmers Market on Tuesdays year-'round, make Downtown an especially inviting place to gather with friends and family.  Many of the businesses are dog friendly, so you can bring the pooch along to enjoy downtown, too!

Whether you’re a local, walking from the Old Escondido Historic District, or traveling from more distant areas, it’s well worth stopping by regularly to see what’s up downtown!

We thank those businesses whose names are in bold type for sponsoring the Old Escondido Mothers Day Home Tour.
