The 11th Annual

Mothers Day  Home Tour May 11, 2008

There is still time to make plans to enjoy the four wonderful historic homes in the Old Escondido Historic District's Mothers Day Home Tour, May 11, from 11:00am until 4:00pm. The homes all represent variations of the bungalow style, and were built between 1910 and 1940.

“Auntie Helen’s Original Recipe” lemonade and home-baked cookies will also be available again this year for a refreshing break in a lovely garden setting.

Tickets are available for sale at the Will Call booth on the day of the tour at Home Tour Headquarters in front of 146 W. 10th Ave.  Tickets purchased online or by mail are also available at the Will Call booth.

The Old Escondido home tour is a National Historic Preservation Month event celebrating the role of history in our lives and the contributions made by dedicated individuals helping to preserve the tangible aspects of our heritage.

All homes on our tour this year are located within walking distance of the Home Tour Headquarters and each other, although two of the homes are located at the crest of fairly steep hills.

Unfortunately, Tour Homes are NOT accessible for those with physical disabilities preventing them from climbing steps or stairs.

Admission to any home on the tour is by ticket only, no exceptions.

The Home Tour will occur, rain or shine – no refunds will be made due to rain.

Please note:

Strollers are not permitted inside the tour homes.

All children must be carefully supervised at all times.

    No high-heeled shoes.

No smoking, eating, or drinking while inside the tour homes.

No photography or video cameras allowed inside homes.

    No pets.

Most of the homes are not wheelchair accessible.

We apologize in advance for the occasional lines which may form outside some of the homes.
