Board of Directors’ Meeting

August 2, 2006

I.                   The monthly meeting was called to order by President, ConnieSue Dickinson at 7:16 P.M. at the home of Doug Eagleson. Those present were : Carol Rea , Dick Althouse, Joyce Koppelman, Dianne Ferguson, Steve Rosefeld, Lynn Hall, and Kevin Hall.

II.                Motion made by Dick/seconded by Kevin to approve the minutes of the July 5, 2006 BOD meeting. Passed by voice vote.

III.             Committee Reports :

A. Finance -     checkbook balance as of 8/2/06     $ 9100.12

B. Home Tour -     Carol will look into finding a meeting place for p[lanning 2007 Home Tour. The first meeting will be on  the 3^rd Wed. of Sept.  9/20/06

C. Quarterly Meeting -   Marie-Jo ?  ( S.D.  Costume Guild )  has offered to do a program on “ period dress “

D. Welcome Neighbor Comm. -   need more address data of new neighbors

E. Newsletter -   Carol Rea is new editor  article deadline is 8/29/06

F. Traffic/Sidewalk -    no report

G. Website – need new update data

H. T-shirts -          new OEN logo  new shirts for this year ?     ?

I  .By-Laws -     ConnieSue says that current by-laws state that only the OEN President may represent and speak publicly about the group’s activities. ( Dick could not find anything in current by-laws regarding this )  Alternate speaker might be the V.P. of OEN

IV.             Action Items :

A. Block Party -   discussion on job assignments for the party

B.  An 8 week leadership training class to start on the first Wed. of Sept. Let ConnieSue know if you are interested in attending.

C. We must encourage neighbors to notify Police Gang Unit about gang activity

D. OEN  has a new logo. 

E. Need to start a data base from Home Tour ticket stubs  (names) to contact people about Home Tour 2007

F. Next city sponsored Neighborhood Leadership Forum  to be held 10/26/06 at 5:30 P.M. in Mitchell Room at City Hall.  Contact ConnieSue

V.                Old Business:

                     Rummage Sale -      tabled

      VI.       New Business :

A. OEN Storage -   discussion on the need for  storage space for misc  stuff .

B. Do we need to promote the Quarterly Meetings  of OEN in the newspaper ?

C. we need to come up with a black and white version of the new OEN logo for printing purposes; current color version is too light to print clearly
