Board of
Directors’ Meeting
October 11,
2005
I. The monthly meeting was called to order at the home
of Matt Fox , 118 W. 9th Ave. , Escondido by President, ConnieSue
Dickinson at 7:18 P.M. All Board Members were present except for Steve
Rosefeld; doctor’s appt. and Dick Althouse : prior commitment , ( Dick
arrived at 8:15 ). The new Newsletter Editor, Tina Palleson was also
present.
II. Approval of minutes of Sept. BOD Meeting was
tabled.
III. Committee Reports:
A. Finance- as of 10/11/05 checkbook balance is
$ 5369.42
B. Traffic/Sidewalks- project completion is
scheduled for mid November on 9th Ave.
C. Home Tour- ConnieSue is talking with Rich Buquet
at City to look for meeting site.
D. Welcome- Doug has been visiting homes looking for
Home Tour candidates and taking pictures. Possibles 649 E. 5th
and 425 E. 5th Ave.
ConnieSue announced that DBA would like to partner with
OEN and send us their newsletter, so ConnieSue gave DBA a copy of our
mailing list.
Carol attended a meeting at Enchanted Gardens Shop at 3rd
and Escondido Blvd. to get an update about the new hotel and parking
structure near the Art Center. BIG things are coming to town unless we ban
together to stop them.
E. Newsletter- next deadline is 11/12/05. Send
articles to Tina Palleson.
F. Quarterly Meeting- Thurs. 10/13/05 Turrentine
Room at Public Library
G. By Laws – next meeting is 11/19/05 at Carol’s
house
H. Web Site- Matt Fox is now doing upgrades
IV. Action Items:
A. ConnieSue is working on 2006 Calendar of Events
and Newsletter Calendar
B. Neighborhood Sector Representation- tabled
discussion
C. Associate membership and Home Tour visitor
discount – tabled discussion
D. Rummage Sale- Steve Rosefeld wants one… table
discussion ( Steve absent )
E. Street Faire Booth - Carol suggests we sell Home
Tour tickets next Oct. for 2007
F. Christmas Float - Carol and Dick to co-chair
Parade 12/10 Entry 11/10
G. Carol made a motion/seconded by Doug to donate
$100.00 (part of Grape Day receipts ) to the National Trust for Historic
Preservation , to help repair historic structures damaged by Hurricane
Katrina. Passed by voice vote.
V. Old Business:
ConnieSue is still working on Events Checklist for
Block Party
VI. New Business:
A. On Screen Entertainment is looking for “project
houses” for the TV show “Back to the Blueprints “. Craftsman houses being
restored and work in progress sought out. Possible candidate would be Debbie
Tilley and Dennis Will with their house move.
ConnieSue will contact Debbie and Dennis to see if they
would be interested in contacting the production company for details.
VII. Next Meeting - Joyce Koppelman’s house at
464 Chestnut Dr. Thurs. 10 Nov. the 230th birthday of the
United States Marine Corps. Oooorah. Semper Fidelis
VIII. Adjournment- The meeting adjourned at 9:06 P.M.
