Circle of Quiet Bed & Breakfast

 

ConnieSue called the meeting to order at 7:12 pm

 

Present:  ConnieSue Dickinson, Peggy Williams, Carol Breitenfeld, Kevin Hall, Lynn Hall, Dick Althouse, Julie Lyon, Carol Rea, Cathrine Laguna

 

Committee Reports:

 

Home selection –Dupree at SE corner Juniper and 6th  (Not confirmed) DiDominicis, 425 E 5th, Culpepper at 4?? E 6th  and 4?? E 6th

 

Homes Liaison Committee – Will begin contacting from list.  Terrie and she will get together.

 

Publicity – Deadlines approaching, preparing press release.  Anyone with/having businesses who may be interested in advertising in program, let Carol know.  Circle of Quiet and Clutter No More are interested.  ConnieSue to get estimates from Duncan for 8-1/2 x 11 and 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, 16 pages, including covers, 1,000 of each.  Ads will be various sizes, costs to be determined.

 

Logistics –  Dick will be ready

 

Refreshments – Lynn & Peggy need list of past cookie bakers.  Need to track those offering this year.  Considering “snack bags” as well as lunches for workers.  Kevin asked about resources for chairs, tables, ice, ice chests, etc.  Doug Eagleson likely to have rental info.    Water to be available at all houses – Cathrine working up signs - $1 each.  Docents to remind visitors to cap water bottles and allow no other refreshments inside.

 

Old Business:  OE Board voted against raising ticket prices.

 

New Business:

Julie Lyon announced that a committee has been established to coordinate involvement throughout greater downtown Escondido.  Cammie Matsen, No County Visitors Bureau is setting up focus areas.  An “Escondido Experience” website will link to businesses including  Old Escondido, Esc. History Center, and B&Bs.   PBS to assist with promotion.  COE Economic Development involved also.  Potential to work with restaurants – possible discounts for meals before/after HT, tie in with other downtown events

 

Cathrine Laguna announced the April 6 deadline for Pioneer Room newsletter to publicize Home Tour.  Can also solicit volunteers.
